Sweet!  So, How Do I Make It?

Making Edible Slime with Marshmallows

Let's get started with what you need for your own “Edible Marshmallow Mermaid Slime”!!

  1. A bag of Jumbo Marshmallows.
  2. Food Coloring (Purple, Blue and Green).
  3. Powdered Sugar
  4. Cornstarch.
  5. Mermaid Glitter.
  6. Mermaid Sprinkles.
  7. Whip Cream and a Mermaid Tail Garnish (Optional).
  8. 3 Bowls for Mixing
  9. Cute Mermaid Cups.

Let's get started!  The first thing we are going to do is take our yummy marshmallows and pour them into 3 separate bowls.  Next, we will need to heat these ingredients up, so we are going to put each bowl of marshmallow goodness into the microwave for 45 seconds at a time until your marshmallows become nice and melted. (If you have smaller marshmallows try 30 seconds at a time).

Now, that our bowls are heated, we are going to turn each bowl of melted marshmallows into a magical mermaid color.  To do this, we are going to add some food coloring.  We will be using a Mermaid Purple, Blue and Green.   Once your food coloring is added, you will need to give it a good stir.

Have your mermaid marshmallow colors ready to go?  Sweet, it's time to turn our melted marshmallow into a delicious edible slime!  To do this, we will be adding ½ a cup of powder sugar to each bowl and then mix it in.  Note: if you notice that your marshmallows are cooling off too quickly, you may want to stick them back in the microwave for another 15-20 seconds.

Once your powder sugar is mixed, we are going to add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and keep adding and mixing between powder sugar and cornstarch until the slime is stretchy, but not super sticky.

Are you feeling the magic?   At this point your mermaid slime colors should be nice and stretchy!  Feel free to go wild and be adventurous and play with your slime!  When you are ready, we are going to move on to one of our favorite parts…the decorating!

It is now time to make some yummy mermaid slimy magic To do this, we are going to take our three-mermaid slime colors, and swirl them together and then add them to a glass cup.  Next, we are going to top our slime with some yummy whip cream, mermaid glitter and sprinkles to create a mermaid slime masterpiece!
