Make An Ultimate Volcano Eruption!

If you do, you are not the only one! The Wild Adventure Girls are back as they make science fun and exciting for kids of all ages! In this episode, Angelina, Annabella and Scarlett mix  science with a little insanity in order to make an "Ultimate Volcano Eruption!!"  Hold on to your safety goggles...this is NOT your ordinary volcano!!

Before we begin, make sure you get your parents’ permission!  We will be using ingredients that could be considered dangerous.  Have their permission?  Sweet, let's now get started with creating science awesomeness!

So How Does This Experiment Work?

For this experiment we will be using three key Superstar ingredients.  These ingredients are hydrogen peroxide, dish soap and potassium iodide because all three work together to produce “explosive” foamy results.

How Do These Ingredients Work Together for the "Ultimate Volcano Eruption?"

The first thing we will need to do is mix our Hydrogen Peroxide with liquid soap and food coloring in a tall cylinder vase.  This will make our eruption extra colorful and super awesome!  Next, we have to add what is called a catalyst (this gets the ingredients going to create our foamy reaction) which in this case is potassium iodide (you can also use dry yeast).  Like a Rock star, the catalyst will break down the hydrogen peroxide turning it very quickly into oxygen and water.  The soapy water then traps the oxygen all Ninja style, creating bubbles that explode!  This foamy mixture will not only explode out of your container, but it will cause a Exothermic Reaction - that means it not only created foam, it created heat!  How's that for an "Ultimate Eruption!"

KaBoom!  This picture is not exactly what we are making today...but it's the next best thing.

Count Me In!  What Ingredients Do I Need To Make A "Ultimate Volcano Eruption?"

  1. You will need a tall cylinder vase.
  2. We used 35% Hydrogen Peroxide.  The safer way is to go with 3% and it is what we recommend.
  3. Food coloring for fun.
  4. Lots of dish soap!
  5. Potassium Iodide or Dry Yeast.
  6. Safety goggles and gloves.

Will Angelina, Annabella & Scarlett's "Ultimate Eruption" Be A Success, or Will Cause Kitchen Chaos?  Tune is to see what happens when The Wild Adventure girls explore the world of science and foamy fun!
