Sweet!  So, How Do I Make It?

Making Edible Slime with Marshmallows

Let's get started with what you need for your own “Edible Unicorn Slime Recipe”!!

  1. A bag of Jumbo Marshmallows.
  2. Food Coloring (Pink, Blue and Purple).
  3. Powdered Sugar
  4. Cornstarch.
  5. Unicorn Glitter.
  6. Unicorn Sprinkles.
  7. Whip Cream and a Unicorn Garnish (Optional).
  8. 3 Bowls for Mixing

Now, let's get mixing!  The first thing we are going to do is take our marshmallows and pour them into 3 separate bowls.  Next, we will need to heat these babies up, so we are going to put each bowl of marshmallow goodness into the microwave for 45 seconds at a time until your marshmallows become nice and melted. (If you have smaller marshmallows try 30 seconds at a time).  Now, that our bowls are heated, we are going to turn each bowl of melted marshmallows into a pretty unicorn color.  To do this, we are going to add some food coloring.  We will be using a Unicorn Pink, Blue and Purple.

Have you added your colors?  Great, let's keep going!  Now that your food coloring is added, we will be adding ½ a cup of powder sugar to each bowl and then mix it in.  Note: if you notice that your marshmallows are cooling off too quickly, you may want to stick them back in the microwave for another 15-20 seconds.

Once your powder sugar is mixed, we are going to add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and keep adding and mixing between powder sugar and cornstarch until the slime is stretchy, but not super sticky.

Are you feeling the stretch?   At this point your unicorn slime colors should be nice and stretchy!  Feel free to go wild and be adventurous and play with your slime!  When you are ready, we are going to move on to one of our favorite parts…the decorating!

It is now time to make some unicorn magic To do this, we are going to take our 3 unicorn slime colors, and swirl them together and then add them to a glass cup.  Next, we are going to top our slime with some yummy whip cream, unicorn glitter and sprinkles to create a unicorn slime masterpiece!

In the video, they use coconut oil but it’s not listed. Is it optional?

    Hi Lisa!

That is a great question. We like adding it because it makes your marshmallows a little less sticky, but I'd say it's optional. :) If you like it and try it, we would love to see a pic on Instagram! Please feel free to tag us in it and use #WildAdventureGirls.

Thank you and have a great weekend!
